Principals

Bob Dyson, S.E.
Founder & Principal

Mr. Dyson received his BSCE degree from UC Davis and has over 30 years of Structural Engineering design experience. He has designed and/or has been the "Engineer of Record" for literally thousands of schools, military, industrial, municipal and commercial buildings. His experience includes design, alteration and repair of Bachelor Officer/Enlisted Quarters, food service facilities, lodges, fitness centers, laboratories, training facilities, schools, industrial facilities and commercial establishments. He has also completed hundreds of structural investigations, seismic evaluations, and value engineering studies throughout Southern California.

Mr. Dyson is a licensed Structural and Civil Engineer in California and currently serves as the Structural Engineer representative to the NAVFAC-CELSOC Liaison Committee - SW DIV, and is one of two Structural Engineering members on the Division of the State Architect's Advisory Board. He is also a Member of the Navy League and a member and former president of the Structural Engineers Association of California, San Diego branch. His other professional society memberships include ASCE, ACI, AISC, AWS, and ACEC.
 


Michael Gardner, S.E.
Principal

Mr. Gardner received his Bachelor of Science Architectural Engineering degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and has over 20 years of Structural Engineering design experience and has been in responsible charge of public schools, military construction, office buildings, communication facilities, health care facilities, seismic evaluations and retrofits, including historic structures. He holds designation as a technical expert by the State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors Enforcement Unit.

Mr. Gardner is registered in California as a Structural and Civil Engineer and is a member of The Society of American Military Engineers, the Navy League, and the Structural Engineers Association of California, San Diego branch.
 


Daniel Korntved, S.E.
Principal

Daniel Korntved received his BSCE degree from Michigan Technological University and has over 25 years of Structural Engineering design and construction experience in concrete, wood, steel and masonry. He has been in responsible charge of numerous office buildings, churches, hotels, educational facilities, piers, military, and industrial facilities. He has been involved in the seismic evaluations and retrofits of many military and historic structures.

Mr. Korntved is a registered Engineer in California, North Carolina, Utah, Florida, and New Hampshire. He is a member and former president of the Structural Engineers Association of California, (San Diego Chapter). Mr. Korntved also is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, San Diego Host Lions Club, and the Navy League.
 


Christopher Kamp, S.E.
Principal

Christopher Kamp received his BSCE and MSCE degrees from San Diego State University and has over 20 years of Structural Engineering design and construction experience including concrete, wood, steel, and masonry structures. He has been in responsible charge of numerous educational, commercial, residential, military and medical buildings, including seismic evaluation and construction and Anti-Terrorism/ Force Protection features. He has extensive experience with project construction administration and field observations.

Mr. Kamp is a registered Structural and Civil Engineer in California, serves on the Board of Directors, UCSD Jacobs School of Engineering, Powell Structures Laboratory - Camp Elliott, is a member and former director of the Structural Engineers Association of California (San Diego Chapter) also serving as Chair of the Seismology Committee and as a member of the Code Committee. Mr. Kamp is also a member of the Navy League.


Tamara Allen, S.E.
Principal

Tamara Allen received her BSCE degree from San Diego State University and has over 15 years of Structural Engineering design experience, including structural steel, concrete, masonry and wood building and bridge structures. Ms. Allen has extensive experience in the design, detailing, specification writing, project management, coordination, and construction administration of Structural Engineering projects.

Ms. Allen is a registered Structural and Civil Engineer in California and is a member of the Structural Engineers Association of California, San Diego Branch. She is a member of Chi Epsilon, and the SDSU Alumni Foundation. Additionally, she is a past Treasurer and Publications Director for the Structural Engineers Association of California.
